The Middleback Theatre, named after the iron ore rich Middleback Ranges which are situated to the west of Whyalla, was officially opened in 1985. The theatre has since hosted a great variety of shows featuring local and international performers and is now firmly established as the cultural and artistic centre of Whyalla.
