Featuring the filmic qualities of Toru Takemitsu’s music as a backdrop two global choreographers promise to transport you into dreamlike landscapes and atmospheres of stark contrasts. Jirí Kylián’s refined and much celebrated choreography is clearly visible in Dreamtime, his chamber work of exquisitely crafted movement for five dancers. This contrasts with the dark and tempestuous piano works in Leigh Warren’s Escape that hurl the performer and audience into action-packed movement and intense stillness. This new work with guest artist Kaiji Moriyama from Japan was inspired by the choreographers’ visit to Akiyoshido, an ancient cave. DANCE ON A KNIFE EDGE TO THRILL AND FASCINATE.
