It all started with sheep. Up until then I never once doubted my life.

A Solitary Choice, presented by Vitalstaistix, follows unhappily married Ruth who is at a crossroad in her life, trying to determine who she is and who she wants to be. Sheila Duncan's gripping one-woman play deals with the emotional fallout when Ruth has an affair with a musician from the Andes.
Ruth, already a mother of a six-year-old son, discovers she has fallen pregnant and must make a choice. Will she have her beloved 'black-eyed girl', or will she be too afraid? The play is unflinching in its portrayal of the social and economic pressures a woman must face when considering an unexpected and potentially unwanted pregnancy.
Lee's performance is a tour de force that has already garnered much acclaim from publications such as Australian Stage. She entirely inhabits the persona of Ruth and brings vibrant life to her character's transition from her character's first feelings of dissatisfaction with life through to her emotionally harrowing journey's conclusion.
